Invissalign: Tray 29!

In the home stretch now and I never though I'd get that far. Got my trays all the way up to 29 so that means, I'm almost done. YES!

There are only 10 more trays until I'm done and my teeth are just doing dandy thank you very much. Things are looking most excellent even if I have been negligent. My ortho also didn't notice my cavity. Mwahahaha!

I cant wait for this to be over though. After this is over, I'm going to some poutine and then picking up some ben and jerry's. Sorry haagen dazs, there's a new kid in town.

Invisalign Tray 23!

Invisalign Tray 23.. I keep telling myself that I'm almost there. Looks like I'll be spending the new year with a brand new smile thanks to Invisalign!

Time flies when you're having fun though! After the first few months, I don't even notice the invisalign anymore and now I'm well into my high 20s (shhh).. after that, doneso!

Went to the dentist again to check out the cavity yet again. It's hurt and a pain so I want it dealt with now! Brought along my trays just in case. He filled it and all was good. i think I'll just keep it from my orthodontist. :)

Quick cavity update

Alrighty, booked an appointment with my dentist to get it all checked out. The good news is that he could do the filling no problem and it would be covered under extended. The bad news is that I told my orthodontist about it and he said "NON!"
 
Apparently getting fillings could mess up how my retainers work. If my teeth fall out because of this... I'm not going to be happy!

My ortho also told me I have to wear elastics on both sides.

Seriously? Arg.

Tray 20 is on the way

Tray 20 is on the way! I did something naughty though and put in the tray sooner than I should have. I thnk my montreal orthodontist is going to kill me! The good news is that it hurts less. Maybe I can make it go faster? Yah? Faster? Sign me up! Then again, i think he's going to frown when I told him. Doesn't matter though because I'm almost there! ALMOST THERE! Halfway there. *sigh* Found this great video about cleaning invisalign.

Zut alors! Again!

I think my ice cream habit has caught up to me now. I was blowing out some candles and noticed that my teeth were super sensitive the other day. Well, one tooth was super sensitive.

Went to the othodontist today and he told me I have a caivity on my molar! It was hidden before, but because of the invisalign trays moving my teeth... it was exposed. He said to book an appointment with my dentist to see what he could do (it would be cheaper that way).

I hope it doesn't mess up my treatments. I was looking forward to getting my teeth all fixed!

Ok, grand prixe time! WOOHOO!

Chewies!

No, not the star wars character. They're these little rubber things that you need when putting your Invisalign aligners in. Apparantly they help my teeth and retainer work better together.

Guess I should be using them more!

In any case, on to tray 14. Come onnnnnn teeth.

BTW, wish I'd know this when looking for an orthodontist.

Visiting my Invisalign Orthodontist in Montreal

Yes I do. I feel like a parolee visiting her parole officer on a regular basis. They check the things they're supposed to check and voila you're on your way.

Hurmph! Well Mr Montreal Orthodontist, I'll have you know I'm doing just fine thank you very much. Oh, he said my teeth are also doing just fine. Got more trays and life is pretty good.

Got my poutine, my hockey (ok maybe not.. stupid habs) and Avengers is coming out soon!

Tray 11... or why does it hurt so much?

I think I must have been a bad person in a former life because it hurts so much! I'm popping the pills like they're going out of style and my pharmacist must be wondering why I keep coming back (darn, running out of refills).

I'm comparing to other people now, but their results are so much better than mine. What gives?!?

Teeth MOVE.

Visiting my montreal orthodontist

Saw my Montreal orthodontist (yes it's bold because he's THE ORTHODONTIST IN MONTREAL) today and ok fine, I admit, he's the best invisalign guy in montreal.

Maybe it's stockholm syndrome.

Either way, happy I'm up to tray 13 now! Oh wait, I'm not. I'm still stuck on tray 7. I *have* tray 13, but alas, it'll be... too many weeks.

More elastics.. more trays.. more waiting.

More changes! Not.

What a disappointment this has been.

I'm getting used to the braces, but my teeth are being stubborn like me and not coorperating.

My brain on the other hand, is totally cooperating and making it easy for me not to notice things.

Merde. So many more weeks to go.

Somethings moving... something's in the air...

New problem now - when chewing I notice my teeth moving around. Now I'm sure they're actually supposed to be moving (or how else am I going to get my awesome smile), but I think they're going to fall off. Flossing behind there is weird too.

Another.. how many weeks?

Maybe i'll keep myself to one tub of ice cream a week.

*counts fingers*

Tray 4 coming up and the pain of the trays is getting less now. I didn't even notice the last one.

I'm even prouder that I'm now Houdini when it comes to getting these retainers off. Look ma! No hands! And by no hands, I mean no hooks. No invisalign hooks! Arg... wanna see my hook?

Still waiting for my teeth to change. My routine goes a little like this:

Wake up
Check mirror
Go back to bed
Wake up
Check mirror

Maybe I need to get rid of my mirror for now.

NEW TRAYS! Succeess!

New trays! Well, second tray. Just when I was getting used to the first tray, they gotta go and make me put this new tray into place. Owwww... maybe I need to go get some more painkillers. I know, I'm such a wuss. :(

Two weeks down... many many more to go?

New spiderman though! (new to me ok. No making fun of me).

New Invisalign Aligners

3 more days (I think... I can't count.. my orthodontist will do it for me!) until new aligners. I'm excited but getting impatient. My teeth haven't even begun to move! My stash of tylenol 3s has now run out and there's no pain...

Invisalign Montreal: Day Five

Haagen Daas, how I love thee. Things are finally getting easier and the aligners don't bother me as much anymore. I still feel like a gimp trying to take my aligners in and out, but it's getting easier too. Too bad I accidentally bit my cheek so now I'm a little chip munky.

*Counts down.. * I have how many trays to go?

I can't take this. Must find ice cream. Need... sustenance...

Someone's kicked my mouth

If Claude Leumieux punched me in the mouth, I think this is what it'd feel like. My teeth are killing me and those pesky elastics are.. gah! The buttons, the pain, need to find me more tylenol 3s. I wonder if L can help me get some.. hum. :)

I'm also starving! It hurts to bite, chew and do anythings so I'm stuck with soft foods. These little aligners are being a pain too and make me concious when eating. My tongue is also killing me because it keeps rubbing that bottom retainer and is making it raw. I CANT STAND IT. I HATE MY MONTREAL ORTHODONTIST. 

I still have way too many sets of aligners to go through as well. Guess I'm going to be eating ice cream lots now.. *hurmph*

Invisalign

Ok, decided on Invisalign and today was day #1! Overbite and crowding means I'm paying too much, but I'm going to have an awesome smile. I hope. I think.

Had the molds done a few weeks ago (while trying desperately to hold down my lunch) and TADA! Today, brand new aligners. Putting them on.. not so yeah. Took an hour for them to go over everything with me and now I have little white notches all over my teeth to hold them in place.

I also don't get to escape having elastics and still have those on my bottom teeth. Soooooo hard to take off! Putting them on though - c'est facile! 

So for the next 1.5 years of my life.. I'm stuck with Invisalign. Let's see what happens shall we?

Meeting with orthodontist #2, 3, 4 and 5

Ok. I'm exhausted and done. Met with way too many orthodontiste who poked and prodded me (ok not really, but I felt that way) until I finally had enough. Big range of prices and way too much information later.. here's what I know

• Normal braces are cheap. Well, as cheap as can be. They're kind of ugly, but at least they come in colors! I... still dont feel like looking like a 10 year old, so that's out.
• Damon Braces are clear... but still look not so good. I think my mom would disapprove.
• Finally, we have Invisalign braces which seem like a good choice, but $7,000!!! Cheaper than the ortho #1, but still...  

I tried some googling today.. Invisalign Montreal, Montreal Invisalign,  Orthodontie Montreal, Montreal Orthodontists.... and I gave up. Too many results, too little time.

Meeting with my orthodontist #1

"Macclo wha?"

 "A malocclusion is when your teeth are misaligned."  said my friendly orthodontist. (in case you're wondering I came home and googled it). He went on to describe in detail exactly what was wrong with my teeth and his recommended treatment.

I wasn't paying attention of course. That is until he quoted the price. $8,000?!? My car costs less than that!

Meeting orthodontist #2 next week. Maybe he'll be more reasonable.

In the meantime, it's time for some girl time at La Banquise.
